So you’ve bought one (or several) of those “biz in a box” style PLR packages thinking you were going to finally make money using your PLR. But you’ve set it up like the seller says, and no one is buying.
You know there’s something missing, but what?
The answer is one word…
The sad truth is that most PLR buyers who want to create an income with the PLR they purchase don’t have a clue how to drive traffic to their sites. And so no one sees this great package they’ve put together. And if no one sees it, then no one can buy it.
The second truth is that “biz in a box” type packages offer up a wealth of income opportunities if you use what you buy and can get traffic to it.
So, let’s talk a bit about that…
You Must Find Ways to Drive Traffic to Your Offers
In order to succeed at creating an with PLR, you need to know how to drive traffic to your PLR offers. This is a skill you MUST have. Without it, your ability to make sales, etc. will be seriously hampered.
Being able to use PLR is an excellent skill to have, but no matter how much rebranding, personalizing and repurposing you do, if no one is seeing your content and offers, you will not be building an audience and without your audience you will not make sales.
If you only take away one thing from this post, realize that you must learn how to generate traffic.
Build a List
The first thing you learn when you start to build a business online is to build a list. It’s the fundamental building block of all online businesses.
The good news is that most “biz in a box” packages always include a lead magnet and an opt-in page. This makes it easy to get started building your list with the PLR you just bought.
The basic premise is that you set up an opt in page and give away the report as a gift in exchange for the visitor’s email address. Setting this up is relatively easy – but you can only collect visitors’ email addresses and build your list if people are actually visiting your opt in page.
This is where the traffic generation comes in… you need visitors to your opt-in page in order to build your list.
Using the Pieces of Your PLR Package
The same applies to almost all other components in your PLR bundles. If your PLR pack has a sales page and an eBook to sell, you need to drive traffic to the sales page.
If it includes PLR articles to post on your blog, you need to drive traffic to your blog.
If it comes with elements such as PLR videos, tweets, pins, etc. all these are meant to be used for traffic generation. Are you using them?
Answer me this… Are you giving traffic generation the importance it requires… or are you just buying more and more PLR thinking that’s the answer?
It’s All a Numbers Game
You know, and I know, that making money online is, to a large extent, a numbers game. The more products you have for sale, the more sales you’ll make.
The more blog posts you have, the higher your chances of ranking for keywords and getting visitors.
The more traffic you get to your web properties, the faster you’ll build a list and make sales. More, more, more. That’s your goal.
The bigger your numbers, the bigger your income. But, as you and I also know, it’s easier said than done in a lot of cases.
But here’s a tip (or a trick if you prefer… )
Start with One…
One step that is…
This is where so many beginners go wrong. They scatter their efforts over many different traffic generation methods and none yield any results worth mentioning. And they buy course after course, and PLR pack after PLR pack thinking that more is better. (Just google “shiny object syndrome” and you’ll see what I mean.)
Instead of being on a never-ending buying spree, here’s what you should be doing:
After buying a PLR product, your first step should be to set it up and use as much of the content in the package as you possibly can.
The articles need to be posted on your blog.
The sales pages need to be set up to accept orders.
Your funnel needs to be in place.
Once that’s all done and you’ve made sure there are no tech issues to deal with, step two is generating traffic to your new content.
And instead of trying to do everything all at once, pick on traffic generation method and stick with it until you either see results or have enough of a lack of results to prove that it does not work for your audience. (That’s another thing a lot of people won’t tell you – not all traffic methods work for all audiences.)
It doesn’t matter whether you choose Pinterest marketing, video marketing, SEO or one of the several other effective methods out there – but you need to choose one and MASTER it.
Get courses/training on the traffic method you choose and apply the information given.
It could be paid traffic or free traffic. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that you focus solely on that method until you see visitors arriving to your site and/or other web properties. Then you can track conversions and try to improve on them.
Setting up your PLR is only half of the equation. The other more important half is traffic generation.
Yes, you’ll need to spend time learning it, and there will be a learning curve.
It will take time, especially if you’re using search engine optimization.
If you opt for paid ads, expect that you are going to lose some money initially as you learn the ropes.
But, once you know how to generate a steady stream of traffic to your offers, you will start to see the opportunities for income that PLR can provide.
